Sponsorship/Giving: Must I pay my sponsorship or gift by PayPal?

Online sponsorship is hosted by PayPal and through their secure site you can pay using any major credit/debit card.  If you live in the UK you have a choice of paying online or sending us a Standing Order (this can be printed from a PDF form available on the Support page).

Sponsorship/Giving: Can I find out if children are available before paying?

Either way is fine.  If you need to know the availability of children before paying, please email us via the 'Contact us' email address (right).

Sponsorship/Giving: Can I select a child myself?

When you send us your details, any preferences you have will be noted and followed, but because our staff is small and voluntary we cannot offer an online choice (which would require a lot of expertise).

Sponsorship/Giving: Can I sponsor for one year only, and if so how?

Yes you can.  If you want to do this online you can use the Donate button (Support page), entering £192 as your payment.  You should then email us telling us what you want to do and we will treat your payment as a sponsorship.

Paying: Can I pay using my Credit/Debit card?

Yes. Clicking either Subscribe or Donate on the Support page will take you to a secure PayPal site where you can make card or other types of payments.

Paying: Can I pay using another currency?

Yes, but only if you use an 'open' traded currency.  Say for example you wanted to sponsor a child at 16 GBP, by going through the PayPal process you would be charged that amount converted into your own currency.

Paying: How much of my online subscription/donation is taken in service charges?

Because Orfund is a registered UK charity, PayPal only charge us 1.4% plus £0.20 for each payment; this is about half what non-registered or commercial operations are charged, which we believe to be very reasonable in comparison to other secure site payment hosts.  Note; if GBP is not your currency, there would also be an unseen currency conversion charge.

Privacy/Use of personal information: Does Orfund put sponsors' details on a mailing list?

If you take up sponsorship or give to Orfund, we will send you our Newsletter, but we do not share sponsor's details with anyone else.
